I always think the Lemken makes a decent job, dock nail dependent obviously.

Tends to sink a bit, but main problem it tends to act like a tumble drier with the soil inside the rings not clearing properly.
If you tow it opposite direction it will clear straight away.
Got an older press which is identical except rings more worn and doesn't block.View attachment 1019695

They look like the 30deg rings? They will struggle on light stuff. The 45's go much better, I've never had to pull ours backwards to clear, if it does start balling up just slowing down usually clears it. I find usually its caused by taking my eye off the ball and letting the front furrow get a tad deep or shallow causing a furrow to be a bit higher into the press.

Would anybody be able to tell me what plough bodies these are. Would they be the W52 or one of the older style boards?

It was a bloody dear sale. I went to take a look at the MX bale grab, but at £2200 it was just £200 short of the new price, or about £700 more than it would have cost new 5 years ago

It was a bloody dear sale. I went to take a look at the MX bale grab, but at £2200 it was just £200 short of the new price, or about £700 more than it would have cost new 5 years ago

Seeing as the top line of the landsides are pointing in different directions, I'd say there might be a reason it's for sale.

What size tractor is that on as isn't a flexpak fairly heavy.?
I run a separate press with plough (variopak) but struggle on light sand as it has a tendancy to fill itself up resulting in it sledding. I presume a flexpak would over come this?

get a different press with wider taller rings have a 3 m dowdeswell and have a coil which pulls behind it weights 3 ton packs the light land perfect

Just finding right one for predominately light land on wider rings / flexicoil. Doesn't seem to be much available as needs to be about 2.6m wide as plough 5 x 20 inch furrows.

I've got a hydraulic release press arm and bracket to suit a europal 7 or 8 available, £200 ono plus carriage if anyone wants one,

Went from a dowsdwell to jewel8 on slats, both 6f. Lemken a lot lighter plough, kinder on the tractor backend. Very easy to put wheel in transport mode. We plough at 18in wide furrows 10in deep and the slats really do brake the soil up better than a solid mouldboard. Only thing I find is you have to keep your speed down the make a good job, 7kph ish. Any faster and the skimmers through the soil onto the back of the mouldboard, then it touches the soil between the slats and gets thrown onto the top. I also made a bracket to put an extra slat at the top of the mouldboard as soil did not get turned over fully and boiled over them(might be due to ploughing at 18in) can buy some trash boards but we’re about £120 each 5 years ago.

Do you have any pics of the bracket you made? Does bolt onto the leg? As my plough is on duramax slats with no holes

Do you have any pics of the bracket you made and does fit on to leg? My plough is on duramax slats and they’re no holes to add a trash board on to.

One of the pictures has a red line on it, this highlights where the corner needs cutting of to let trash flow through better
