Lights on the road

Got sent these by a non farming friend the other day asking why farmers did this.

Rear lights so bright they dazzle cars behind them, but a big bucket on the front so no one can see the front lights.

Obviously the driver has cab work lights on so oncoming drivers can be see him, but has inadvertently switched the rears on too - but indicators can’t be seen from the front.

Now buckets are getting bigger why don’t they fit high level indicator lights to loadalls?

Ridiculous really, cab/high level side lights/indicators would be a much better idea.

Tractors are getting really bad for it these days, often made worse by flashing LED's on the mirror arms/near indicators. What a way to make an outfit more unsafe...

I think the worst is when your work lights work off side lights and people don't turn the sodding work lights off, so they think they just have the side lights on and don't realise the work lights are still on! Night time I turn every pair of work lights off individually so the next day if I only wana flick the side lights on I only have the side lights on!

Hang on a minute, the guy could have been working in a dark corn store and just forgot to switch them off,I run them on when I'm loading when at the back of a shed,we can all make mistakes.
When it's dark, it is easy to see when you have rear facing work lights on. People who insist on breaking the rules and making it dangerous for other road users should get points on their licences. Easy mistake to go 40 through a 30 zone (modern cars, 40 feels like 20), but if they were my children walking to school I would not be happy.

its a pet hate of mine, its not as bad during the day, but on a dark winters night, you cant see. If you go to overtake, you have a large blind spot. If your coming towards them, you also have a blind spot. Id say an accident caught on dashcam will sort it all out?

Personally I feel that side markers are way better than beacons, but I see the EU have made beacons compulsory now.
