Little Introduction into our family and if there’s a way to connect at all?

For anybody to give you an opportunity with some kind of work for portion of the rent deal there would have to be a serious level of trust between the landlord and yourself. You've got to put some time into building those relationships and proving yourself. No one is going to give you such a deal off the cuff we've all been burnt before trying to see the best in people.
No good deed goes unpunished...
I understand that. Honestly, it was just a way for me to introduce me and my family to the community and see if there were any open opportunities in my area or if there might be someone in here who knows someone who would be interested in entertaining our situation, that was all. I was upfront and honest about our current situation and just wanted to see how it was received. So far, not so great by the looks of things so far.

It might come across as negativity a lot on the replies on here but it's just people being honest and trying to give helpful feedback and keep things realistic

My grandparents did this in the 1960’s when they moved from Yorkshire to South Devon
My grandfather was handyman/gardener for a large country house estate and my grandmother was housekeeper/nanny at the big house (a Mrs Hall type from All Creatures)
Their children were adults by that time and they had time to do it in their 50’s in the 1960’s
They got a tied house and commensurate wage
But that 60 years ago and they both them & those times have long gone
Big country houses & families are few & far between nowadays
May I suggest you try The Lady magazine
Yes, essentially this is what we’re wanting to achieve. I’m aware there are opportunities out there, even if they’re hard to come by. My thinking is more, I’m not in the know and don’t have connections within the local area but perhaps there are people on here that do and would be willing to help us out. That is all I wanted to achieve here. Thanks for your response.

Completely and I hope that I’m giving off the correct tone in my responses. I’m happy to listen and learn, we won’t get anywhere if we don’t humble ourselves and try to approach this with open ears and eyes. I’m originally from Cornwall, but lived in the north for over ten years now, I know how to handle honesty now. 😂

Good luck
My grandparents did it later in life - in their late 40’s & 50’s, so it can work
The Lady magazine has some such adverts, as well as Country Life magazine
Have a browse
They may yield something
