Current world events are meaning that distributers and manufacturers are fining it very hard to price things like fuel and fertiliser and as a result are often having to withdraw from the market

FarmDeals (The TFF buying group) has had almost no fuel or fertiliser prices for a week now which is totally understandable under such volatile circumstances BUT its worth noting that the FarmDeals app notifies its users immediately when they do return to the market

in these strange times I really would suggest its a tool that all farmers should have on their smart phone, it's. free , there is no commitment etc

the app is available here

and if you are not alreday a member you will need to join here

Notifies immediately? As in push notification?

yes the FarmDeals app does push notifications

as an aside so new TFF app is finally ready and it also does push notifications - awaiting app store approval but that’s shouldn’t take long now

Thanks. I have it installed but it's good to know that when fuel/fert are back that it will get in touch.

i think its never bern so important to be informed about price and availability

we had a limited qty of glyphosate a while back but it sold out in hours

It does seem to have a red diesel price? Albeit not a very nice one.

Spoke to someone we know in our local supplier & they are quoting £1.30 a litre minimum, said they had to pay £1.25 off the ship when it gets in, seems there's a bidding war going on!

Afraid when push comes to shove, the brokers don't get supplied at ther knock down prices.
Only way to guarantee supply is to deal direct and to build up relationships.

Saving a half a penny a litre over a year mean nothing when you can't get supply and your machines are sat doing nothing!

You would think so but thats simply not happening now - loyalty is being let down

I'll not sit up waiting for a push notification as there's never been any fuel or nitrogen prices on there anyway. It's rather easier making your prices look good if you cherry pick the areas to supply.

no cherry picking, some areas simply don't have suppliers. Its a new platform and you don't build a full book or coverage of supply overnight

It will come

Must be different sort of businesses then because its not here

glad to hear it, but I guess it depends on what you are buying and if your loyalty is with a supplier that can actually get it or hasn't got themselves in a mess (. ........ a LOT have done)

I bet you cant get me a price on a pallet of glyphosate right now ? and if you I doubt that supplier will, be doing you any favours offering it at any less that he can get from the market

You are organic I though ? so what are you buying much of thats affected anyway other than fuel ?

let's revisit this discussion in a few months time ........ ag supply is in turmoil right now but it will take a while to filter properly to the farm gate I'm sure

Same here . Our supplier is only supplying their own customers with a 'regular order' track record. They supplied me but wouldn't supply brother next door as he has only used them once in about 5yrs . We only use them and now its paying off .

That statement just goes to show your lack of understanding of agriculture outside of your business.

buy much glyphosate and N fertiliser do you then ? i kind of assumed such products ( the things that are hard ti get and this thread is really about) were not really part of organic farming

Yep those are the only things with supply and delivery issues.

Meanwhile in the real world......

I'd sooner be short of fuel or paying more money than be in the Ukraine atm.

Edit, you actually sound like a addict not able to get your next fix.🤷‍♂️

only things i’m struggling with along with fuel - can get pretty much anything else really

not an addict- just not an organic farmer ……… like most, and glad of it given current prices
