Long forgotten Livestock Marts

I asked about the Kirk bros' lorries on some other forum and a chap sent these two pics.

I prefer the top version.

The stainless light bars on the bottom version would be way out from the 70s

Lovely old wagon though. I had an A Series tractor unit, beautiful to drive.

of course i could be wrong but i an thinking back to the late sixties and remember we bought some cattle off burt i could have sworn it was a wooden box my mind must be playing tricks on me or perhaps its the side effects from parting with the money for cows:confused:
I also thought Bert's had a wooden container all those years ago.

You could be right,I think all the brothers had Jennings body's on varnished,I can only imagine the shock of parting with money as they wouldn't part with anything for nothing ???

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
