LONG WET WINTER?

It's been sort of dry lately....as in no heavy rain. Not really drying weather though, with fog/ mist / drizzle/ cloud. Frustrating.

a couple of weeks ago the sun was out and the grass was drying out it looked like we could be getting the cows out , but since then and today as i type its wet and overcast ? the straws now nearly all gone and i cant say id miss this season, seems a long winter ?

i was thinking today...'more feb than march' :rolleyes:

Running out of silage here, plenty of straw but grass not growing much, cant see where the fert has been put on yet and that was 2 weeks ago.

I think the trouble is some of you guys just do not know what winter is or have forgotten
A month ago I was in week 4 of snow cover which was just shy of 2 feet deep, with blooming chilblains. Still have remnants of where it was pushed up and on the hill.
And the reality is it has not been that bad a winter. 2010 -2011 now that was a winter.

It just the fact the crapness lasts from Oct to Mar which is the issue

Heavy ground just isnt drying out, had to work it to try and get some air into it, brash fine just need sun and warmth. Still only 80ac left to drill
