I’ve been asked to help look for a compact tractor that’ll do a local sports club for pitch maintenance, basic requirements are:
Needs to fit in a 20’ container
Lift 1t minimum (verti-drainers are heavy)
50ish hp ?
£12k budget
Pto for mower

is there anything worth having for that kind of money?

That's a very healthy budget tbh.
Wouldn't know where to send you in Scotland. This part of the world of recommend campey turfcare (premium product at premium price) or acorn tractors. Think both will have iseki in around that size which for me are the best compact tractor available

Might be worth checking on the spec for verti drain to see what speed is required. The low range may not be slow enough for fine tired work where you will need creeper box

Just remembered that my ground are contractor mate had this for sale. 50hp. More like a small proper tractor than a big compact.

Worth a look to get a feel of the market. They go a long way delivering... ;) Boss man pretty helpful I found.

Lifting a tonne will rule out many compacts I suspect... My 50hp Kioti tops out at around 600kg of fert in a spreader.

Like the look of that. Think it would fit in a container with a set of turf tyres on it?
