Maize height

I've ventured out of Devon today and driven up M5 and M4, most I saw would have been in the knee to thigh high range but there is some awful patchy ankle high stuff about too. I don't think I saw any over waist height.

Seen a picture of John Millman in some 10ft stuff drilled early April under plastic.

He's put it on FB so I'm sure he won't mind it being shared

Probably Cocks, Graeme certainly seems to know how to grow a good crop of maize.

There is some sh!te about though, I saw some ankle high yellow stuff just north of Exeter yesterday.

Some of the later drilled would have had a crop of grass off before being ploughed. Need to add that in to the factor when comparing "yields" or "height"
The best crop pictured on this thread is in Dorset, and it had 8 ton of 1st cut removed before the maize. It looks like a 24 ton crop of maize in the making, so old swampy could be up 32tons fresh per acre this year. Not bad for a boy in a bog.
