Very rare to see fallow here, normally only in winter or the odd loan Buck pre rutting in Autumn.Deer, i would hazard a guess at fallow, if you send me a photo of the tracks with something to gauge the size (eg a coin) I'll confirm. How extensive is the damage?

The prints were roe which we have a healthy number of that I manage myself.
Your sad at 8ft? Decent cob and you'll be looking at a 20t plus crop will you not?Sadly prolonged drought has finally taken its toll in this corner of Salop. Crops been tassling for a week. Most crops no more than 8ft. Crops which looked stunning and really motored early season now really steadyed up and look distinctly average. Sadly!
I was thinking the very same far to early to be disappointed I'd say.Your sad at 8ft? Decent cob and you'll be looking at a 20t plus crop will you not?
What % of the total plant weight would be in the cob? 1/3rd?I was thinking the very same far to early to be disappointed I'd say.
I know what you mean Will, but hopefully this rain will mean heavy cobs. It motored on very fast, but has now all tassled. Maybe an early harvest .Sadly prolonged drought has finally taken its toll in this corner of Salop. Crops been tassling for a week. Most crops no more than 8ft. I don't suppose you are far out but an 8' plant with an above average cob is going to produce a good starch content. What % of the total plant weight would be in the cob? 1/3rd?
We sell by weight, anything over 30%DM is a waste, i.e losing weight. I have offered it for sale on a DM basis but nobody is interested, starch never seems to get mentioned. Sorry to sound so unprofessional! What DM are you aiming for? The goal here is 36dm 36starch
An 18 ton crop at below 30% DM should be easy, what cost per ton do you sell for?We sell by weight, anything over 30%DM is a waste, i.e losing weight. I have offered it for sale on a DM basis but nobody is interested, starch never seems to get mentioned. Sorry to sound so unprofessional!
As a standing crop? Would be happy with that as a grower. Haulage to Cornwall may be a killer tho!We buy it 50p per % of starch and 50p per % of DM per ton.
