Major tyre repair

Does anyone know if it’s viable and who could do a major repair on this tyre...still plenty of meat on it and doesn’t do any road work now....had it repaired about 2 years ago but it’s failed just now....wether it wasn’t done correctly or not I don’t know....cheers

Redpath Tyres, dunno how far south they go tho.

Was it damaged or did it fail?

Pirellis were guilty of sidewall failure, I may be wrong but is mitas a reincarnated Pirelli? We had a pair fail andgot compo togo toward replacements tyres were about 30% at the time.

It just failed whilst tedding....I’m not sure about mitas, if it can’t be economically repaired I’ll just get a BKT....over a grand each like

I had something similar to that after I put a bale spike through a brand new tyre.
Had it repaired twice, kept failing ( inner tube wouldn't last long ), gave up, and bought a new one.

I’m not putting a tube in cos it’ll just get nipped all the time...think it’s going to be a new tyre

For piece of mind probably the only answer. Flog the old one on Facebook / ebay maybe ? Some folk will buy anything.......

I’ve given half a dozen tractor tyres away to some barmpots who want to beat the sh!t out of them and roll them about

Tyre recovery U.K. have done a few tractor tyres for me. Proper vulcanised repairs. They send them away somewhere I think

That looks a borderline case to me they will tell you if it’s worth repairing

If it's properly vulcanised and a gator over the repair,would it not prevent a tube from being nipped? Just a thought....
Although I suppose if it's properly done there shouldn't be anything to nip the tube anyway........

Been the soldier before spendin money repairin damaged tyres. My advice is ur only throwin good money after bad. If it was me id buy new whatever brand u can get the cheapest and have peace

We had one on the manitou. Took it to Terry Elsey at Malton they sent it away to be sorted out. That was 3/4 years ago now not had any problems with it at all

Yes they are good lads they only charged me £40 for one and £60 for another and the lasted until the tyres were bald.
Absolute characters they are. I used to buy my wagon tyres off them a lot of the haulage lads use them around here.

Pirelli became Trelleborg
Mitas took over Continental brand for a while and now are all mitas, because Continental have restarted as Continental


Its hard to keep up at times!
