Jesus. So good of him to look after his mum by buying her more sheep’s after she hurt herself in the first place with sheep’s.

“Really we are securing the future of the breeding stock on the farm in a way that mum will be able to cope in the winter time on the hill. That really is the whole premise of the show.

"It comes to a point where you start looking after your parents like they looked after you.”

Im not keen on henson, Matt however comes across as a decent bloke, a friend did quite a bit of work with his digger for him. (He was there while they were filming).
Janice (his mum) has been the yfc secretary for years and shes a lovely woman.
As far as i can gather hes produced it with his own money, so thats a risk hes taking. Hopefully it shows a warts n all view, but we will have to see.
The farm is maybe 40 to 50 acres, mix of grazing in a lovely area.

Yes, a good bloke who does a lot for good causes.
Met him once when he came here to do a bit for Countryfile about outdoor pigs. Liked it when I told him that we weren’t like “lazy sheep farmers” whose animals only give birth for a few weeks each year, we have sows farrowing every day of the year. He made me keep repeating it so it survived editing.

I saw a trailer for it last night.....it’s like Adam’s farm take two!
It’s nothing like Adam Henson’s place. I’ve been to Cotswolds Park Farm and the Bakers place isn’t far from me the similarities are about as far apart as the two places are from each other. Can’t comment on the program as haven’t seen it . Know one or two people who will appear in it . Fair play to him to make money out of his mother’s place, nice bit of diversification on there behalf. I’ve met the family in a small way and they seam to be very nice .

He is not daft! Could he be doing an Adam? He is not far from Durham. Could it not be the start of a farm park and Farm Shop? Several breeds of sheep and other animals.

Doubt it at the moment. If he were to move back up permanently then maybe. The place would need some serious investment to do that . Might be more in the program.

Might be an idea to pull up the jockey wheel and plug the lights in. :watching:

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
