Meet my pigs.

We got the pigs to break up some rough bits of ground I wanted to reseed that were to small/rough to get a tractor into . There doing that job for us but the amount they eat is unreal !
Once that job is done they too will be on the one way trip I thinks 😔
I like the pigs, quite the characters

l like pigs, they have a 'character'.
Used to have a couple of pet sows, aptly named after my sisters, kept them in a small field, by the house, it was fun watching walkers, on the foot path, reacting to their friendly approaches, give them a scratch, they would just fall over, and wait for more.

And used to have a few pigs to root through the straw yards, before cleaning them out, used to do a really good job, tried to get son interest in buying some, obviously heavy in pig, at mkt, they were in the cull lines, £20 ish. He wouldn't.

I miss having a few pigs about.

We had ours right next to a footpath too , which was entertaining for walkers until the day the old boat decided to drop dead right a side of path ! 🙈
Last litter of piglets we had have nearly drove wife insane by going everywhere there not meant to go ! Locked in the shed now !

I've lost count of the number of farms I've been to and seen where they had ancient little buildings all for rearing a load of pigs. A glimpse of days gone by, fed whatever was about and backed with some processed grub maybe in bags. Fattened up and sold at market one cow trailer load at a time. Makes me sad to think about it really- we've come this far and lost so much.
