Metal-detecting events and earn money

Good morning,
I hope to contact the right person for my request.

My name is Gianluca Toppi and I am looking for permission to detect in private land.

I am a conscientious and accredited metal detectorist (NCMD member, National Council for Metal Detecting with full public liability insurance) based in Brighton. I can send my card number and we are formally recognised by the UK Government.

Insurance covers when you attend commercial rallies/events, private & group digs.

– Public Liability Insurance up to £10m – with £0 excess

– Access to our Major Finds Excavation Fund for help with important finds

I have a passion for history and I have been metal detecting for 10 years now all around the world, Italy, Australia, Scotland, the UK and Indonesia and have found some lovely finds and you can check on my YouTube channel.

I also offer my services to find any lost objects in the fields like farm equipment, jewellery etc.

I am based in Brighton and will be willing to travel within an hour's drive. I would love the opportunity to be given the chance to discover a little bit of history.

I am seeking permission to detect on private land (ideally fallow/ploughed/harvested farmland, but all land is welcome!), with revenue from all individual finds of value equivalent to/greater than £50 to be split 50/50 with the landowner/tenant.

Given the rich history of Brighton and surrounding areas, you could have valuable historical artefacts buried or discarded on your land, which you would otherwise be unaware of!

I can assure you that I am very responsible, respecting the land that I search with all plugs neatly backfilled and all trash taken home and disposed of leaving your land as I found it if not better

All finds of value and/or historical interest will be declared to the local council Finds Officer and Portable Antiquities Scheme.

I am 100% ethical and correct in following procedures, and I promise full transparency of all findings. Your land will be left exactly as I find it, with any holes dug filled.

I will also remove and correctly dispose of all small items of metal and rubbish that I find on your land this can help prevent unexpected injury to livestock or damage to farm machinery. It’s a win/win 🙂

As members of NCMD ( National Council for Metal Detecting) we have already a 3rd part relationship with

-The Portable Antiquities Scheme - is a voluntary scheme to record archaeological objects found by members of the public In England and Wales.

-Alliance to Reduce Heritage Crime (ARCH)

Please get in touch with me to discuss this further, I would love to meet you in person.

also following the law:

- The Treasure Act 1996.

Also, I can keep you in touch with organizations for Metal-detecting events and earn money

We are always on the lookout for new land to host our metal detecting events and offer highly lucrative rates for land rental. We rent land throughout the Midlands and the wider UK, with our landowners earning an average of £400 – £1,000+ per one-day event and over £2,500 for weekend camping events. Our metal detecting events have significantly contributed to supporting Great British farming, raising hundreds of thousands for our partners. If you would prefer, we can also organize charity metal detecting events, and will even donate 25% of our own profits to your chosen cause.

Occasionally, our members unearth valuable treasures. For items valued over £1,000, landowners receive 50% of the item’s value, providing you the opportunity to get paid twice. You can discover some of the amazing finds made by Noble Pursuits members in our metal detecting finds gallery.

Renowned for our expertise in running metal detecting events, we have an excellent reputation within both agricultural and metal detecting communities. Our events are highly popular and often sell out quickly. We ensure peace of mind for our landowners with public liability insurance and written agreements. All significant finds are photographed, and we collaborate with local heritage teams to record historically important discoveries. While we manage all aspects of organising and running events, landowners and their families are welcome to participate We can even lend you some equipment to try it yourself!

We organise events to suit your schedule, operating on both weekdays and weekends. All land types are considered, regardless of historical context, as we often find extraordinary items in unexpected places. Our events typically cover 30-60 acres, but we can manage events on 15-100+ acres. For further details, please see our FAQs below or contact our team to discuss this opportunity in more detail.

Technical point - the Third Party Liability insurance covers the INDIVIDUAL person not the "group" as a collective or the organiser.

Ergo if you can not identify the person who caused the problem you can`t claim.

Responsible event organisers would have their own insurance policy.
