MF 1800 artic restoration project

He had some very impressive kit over the years and was a smashing chap.

I used to enjoy my twice weekly visits to the quarry to collect top soil for Neil Bartlett then deliver it to a big site at Charingworth in The Cotswolds.
In before you were supposed to open, he would send me down the track. “you know where the key is” he would say, so I used to load myself.

Also, I hit my record lime spreading rate at your Dads farm. 60 tonnes spread in 60 minutes in a field on the side of the track. Happy days.

Hi would be interested if you have the details Thanks
Well ive spoken to said 1505 owner & even tho it hardly turns a wheel through the year he isnt wanting to sell it, even tho i told him it would go a long way to an newer telehandler
heheee, i think he knows its gaining value all the time & its totally original apart from the rep engine which he said wasnt cheap neither, original one failed totally
dont know the exact detail as he is quite a mechanic when he gets the time & no many engine he hasnt tackled over the years himself.

The engines fitted in the 1505 was the 3208, which could be set up as 150,180 or 210 hp at 3100rpm, unless you knew the sequence of model no's the ordinary person could not know. A 210 hp in a forage harvester the hours that Cat recommended was only about 1200 and they published that. The previous model was the 3160 which was notorious for dropping valves at high idle, Bowmaker mechanic's always said they were not Cat engines. In N America they were a lot more common than in Europe. I happen to know this from personnel experience.

We had a MF1805 for a few years in the 90's. Bought from Cambridge but had been on a N Lincs farm. We bought spares from Pocock's near Shaftesbury, Dorset. They imported secondhand bits from the US. CAT V8 engine eventually died and we sold the tractor to an employee of Pallisers of Hereford who was going to restore it. http://www.pocock-tractorsupplies.co.uk/used_parts.html
Hi reb1952 was this the tractor you had by any chance NFE278V

Hi Dalep98, I've managed to find an old photo showing the number plate and it is the same tractor. Without a dep search in old paperwork I can't remember when we bought it (early 90's) or when we sold it (early 2000's). I know who owned it before us.
Iv private message you reb1952 great to hear from you
