MF 1800 artic restoration project

Did think about a Cummins 903 or a Perkins 640 as have a few about or a L10 and twin splitter, but wanted to try and keep it original

We are at Coventry and my late father used to help with MF field test so had the chance to buy a few of the evaluation and workshop training machines. We ran the MF1800 till the gearbox failed then it got as a donor to keep our MF1505,s running.
Also got an ex field test MF1155 in the back of the barn which we ran for years.
Can't beat the sound of a V8 :)

I’ll have a word with my brother. We are at Kenilworth, just down the road. He rebuilt a 1505 some years ago, put a Merc V8 in , made a lovely job of it. He may have some parts kicking around.

@sandymarky11 in Classic Tractor a couple of months ago there was an article about rare and prototype MF combines. Did your Dad have one just like them?

I think it was a 9280?
My father ran MF760's then MF865 and later bought a MF8590 rotary privately after recommended by a friend in MF . It was an awesome combine with the 640 Perkins V8 and 18ft Dronenboug power flow header.. Didn't like the wet used to bump and bang and ending up splitting the rotor drive box once.
Also ran it with a Shelbourne stripper header for a bit on wheat and linseed, massive output for the era.
A friend also ran another MF8590 near Silverstone.
