MF 290 Turbo filter

Evening all, we've got a Massey 290 with a dealer fitted TB turbo, had the tractor since new. Its due for a service but I'm struggling to find the canister type oil filter for the turbo, shown in the photo. Would anyone have a part number for it? Its my own fault really for not keeping/losing the filter box from when I last serviced it. Local MF dealer has always got them in the past but they can't seem to find them now.

I'm no use to you on this one but could I trouble you for a few more photos of the turbo set up as i have an old kit lying in a box which i intend to fit sometime but I've never seen one fitted. Is there a model number on the turbo?

Not even sure why it would need one? the pressure feed would already be filtered from the normal engine filter.

Perkins later 4236 types and the 1000 series fitted a longer spin on filter on the turbo spec engines, same thread etc as the short ones. i often fit the longer ones to the non turbos cause its easier to keep more of the common turbo spec one in stock.

Opico fitted a large very very expensive spin-on canister which they insisted had to be Opico branded. The one and only reason being a big profit item shared between Opico and the dealer. It was pure money-making. At least TB used a commonly available filter which even today should leave change from a fiver.

Whilst on the subject to any of you knowledgeable members, if turboing the 290 using the 4 248 engine should I go wastegate or non-wastegate?
You could go with either as long as it is the right turbine for the job. The TB turbo kit was never a wastegate turbo and neither was the factory MF390T but the 398 had a wastegate. They used the 236 engine but that's not relevant.

Was thinking of using a wastegate turbo to give more low/mid end power and reduce over pressure at high revs. The turbo used on a 5455 is wastegated I was thinking it might be suitable.

Near neighbour has a turboed 290 that I would keep right for him. The turbo was fitted before he bought it as least 20 years ago.Neither an Opico or TB kit.
The odd time I've seen a dampness of oil from the oil feed pipe gasket but never anything to worry about as it soon burns off and isn't anything to worry about. However,I took a phone photo of the turbo number and make, a couple of years ago to see if a replacement would be available if need be. It's a KKK turbo but I never did look it up...until this evening after reading this thread.
It's the same turbo as used on a Porsche 944 which would be wastegated I believe. At least if it needs a new core etc,I'd think it could still be got. The Perkins manifold however, could be a different matter.Never did figure out what it might have came off originally as it obviously had to suit the turbo being fitted outside the bonnet.

Think I have a manifold sourced from a generator engine it was a 4.236 engine but as far as I know the head dimensions are the same. Its a 4 hole rectangular turbo fitting. Have to wait till it arrives (this week) and then I take it from there, make it up as I go along. Have an oil filter head with tails to an air oil cooler radiator in the front sorted too as I realise cooling may be an issue.

There is a slim but feasible chance that the extra filter is because the turbo oil feed is taken from a gallery pre main engine filter.
