MF 7618 Dyna 6 vs 7480 DVT vs 6490 Dyna 6

Power isn't a huge deal but pulling the full legal road limit on hilly B roads needs more power and weight than our mf 6465 and baling heavy silage on slopes with a chopper baler zaps power. Front linkage would be a nice addition too.

Given a choice of the above or other 2010 to 2014 Massey 150-200hp what would you pick with your own money? All with 4500 to 8000 hrs.

I'm not looking for replies like, go buy a fendt or JD. ?
We had a 7618 dyna 6, end of story , all so have a 7480 dyna vt it is a lot better tractor than that 7618 ever was, i would try and find a 11 or 12 plate 7480 , no add blue crap on them & are better built tractors

Do you wants a 6.5t or 7.5t tractor thats a bit numb around tighter yards the other Q
2.8m wheelbase vs 3m
6480/7480/7618/7718 vs 6490 basically
D6 or VT
all Dyna-vt are 50k regardless well 53k
D6 can be either 40k (44k) or 50k (56k)

Massey poss has too many Models overlapping each other id jump 50hp everytime & miss all the ones out inbetween

could you get away with a 175hp 4pot??? 6616S ? 6718S ?

the man is right rearly do you get any Software Issues on a 6400/7400 but for some reason best no said the 7600 models had there share of things
current 7700 ones aint perfect neither but fine whilst under warranty

- After a 6pot
- Something with good lock round the yard
- wheelbase unsure?
- I like the dyna6 but the fear is if 3rd gear went
- 50k ideally as by the time we would change again 80k might be the new normal

hardly an issue with D6 sub 7718/7618/6480 afaik
Its the bigger framed models that seem too give the issue.
But some never give trouble, its like russian roulette :ROFLMAO:

If you are going to use in to feed cattle with a feeder get a Dyna vt ,we use our 7480 on the bedding machine and it is great

No the tractor will not change gear unless the software says it is ok
The driver has nothing do with the gearbox problem

Sorta does though seeing how it’s a semi powershift and should be treated as such. Many operators treat it like full powershift and force third range to shift to forth regardless of load or terrain.

Mechanical sympathy goes a long with with everything.
