Milk Price Tracker

That reminds me of a boss I had in the UK. He came out one morning a bit stressed. He was off to a days shooting somewhere - nothing unusual there - but had to take the 18 month old defender (no work truck for us for the day) as the Porsche was in for a service and his wife wanted the Range Rover.

Poor bloke, hopefully his mates didn't take the pee too much.

He was a good bugger though, it just made me laugh at the time.

No idea, they did it to him last April too, forward sold at 27p, then only got 15p for half and 27p for the other half, trouble is like he says where else can he go, he's desperate to move but no ones recruiting.
That's an awful situation to be in. Forward selling is meant to give you security, obviously means nothing to them atleast. Not a lot else I can say.

Not making excuses but would you sooner a milk buyer that pays for the milk he has a home for or one thats gone bust and no home for your milk.

We all know we wouldn't like either but it happens sadly.
I'd rather one rhats open and honest with me and tells me they're having problems, this is what they're doing about it and asks if I'm willing to work with them, and if I'm not willing tells me I should consider handing my notice in to them

I don't disagree.
It does also depend on what other cash is flowing out of the buyers business.

Turbulent times again for some.

Hiding doesn't make the issue go away.

Our coop offers fixed price contracts, but they are directly linked to customer contracts, so that they don't find themselves with no home for that milk. Has the above buyer called force majeure on the farmer contracts in order to break from them?
