I tend to gently lower the stirrer down until the impeller just touches the floor and then lift it up some - this is with the machine stationary obviously! The impeller wants to be roughly half the depth to get it swirling well. The auger will help get a real cyclone going on. Tremendous machines.Just out of curiosity how do you watch you don't get to close to the floor with no leg especially on lagoons with liners?
a std 20ft lagoon stirrer comes with a walterscheid 2500 pto and an auger on the tube.
there are 2 ordinary impellers; 80-120hp and 110-150hp.
this machine is delivered for £1840 at the moment - brexit will put up the pto's before long.
the hvy m/c comes with a 200hp impeller and a 2600 pto
this is £2600
How much is a 3 meter extension? We've had our mix it stirrer now for got to be going on 12 years or more used on sand slurry and only on its second impeller. When we changed impeller we went for the bigger one and have twisted two ptos since but apart from that a brilliant machine!!

Ive a mix it and very happy with it, infact its excellent, fully recommend one.
Bet tractor drinks some fuel on that job,Same, I bought John’s biggest tower mixer. It’s a fantastic tool, not something you could leave with any idiot though as it’s a beast even on a 200hp tractor. I’m getting phone calls from people wanting it to mix their tanks, probably a niche little market in some areas
Mine just ticks over . Mf35 could drive one if it had the weight too hold the thing takes a big tractor to handle it.Bet tractor drinks some fuel on that job,

Can stationary pto work be bad for tractor over long periods of time ?75hp fils my tower, anything less wont work.
No, good as same revs all the time, stationary engines can do many more hrs than tractor engines that get revved up and down etc.Can stationary pto work be bad for tractor over long periods of time ?
Suppose thing is in stationary work the gear box isn't being used,No, good as same revs all the time, stationary engines can do many more hrs than tractor engines that get revved up and down etc.
Just have too keep an eye on cooling, stationary have uprated cooling packages.Suppose thing is in stationary work the gear box isn't being used,
