Mobile Grain Dryer one tractor

Anyone running a pto dryer with one tractor, just trying to work logistics of it. If anyone doing be appreciated on how they load especially the drier using the auger

Do you have a telehandler as well?

You could mount an engine to drive the drier. Saves tying your tractor up. Someone on here converted the pto drive to electric motor.

A word of caution @Joe generally stopping a mobile dryer when it’s full can lead to problems, it’s one of those things you only do once. Whatever you come up with keep the dryer running.

That’s what I was told when I looked into it.
Only single phase here ( unless I want to spend £20k on a new transformer

I have done it with one tractor and a telehander for loading and pushing up,and a big trailer to get all the load back into , then taken the tractor of the dryer too go and tip it .
Only done this when needs be.

I wouldn’t stop a dryer with grain in .

Electric drive , hire a generator for harvest. Much cheaper than a new connection as you’d have to pay a standing charge to satisfy the needs of the drier all year round

I only have one tractor to drive mine, load with telehandler and empty into bunker made of concrete lego bricks. Fairly efficient as you are loading 30 seconds after it has finished emptying. Bucket grain from bunker to where it needs to go.

And do you have an area of concrete at the side of the drier to empty out to. If so it should be perfectly possible with one tractor. Just needs some shuttering to hold dry grain away from the drier. Having a hopper to hold a few buckets full (better still a whole drier full) of wet grain would ease the workload of the forklift a bit.

He’ll need a few details about your drier to work out what size motor etc as that’s the biggest cost.

Would be cheaper to buy an old yard tractor time you've got both generator and electric motor
