Got 3500m to lay after harvest , managed to find a firm who will hire a Browns mole plough with unroller ( as above) to me but pleased to see the pictures as I have not actually seen one in the flesh . Got pipe coming in 150m lengths but it looks like that will be ok by the pictures ( was not sure if unroller would cope , size wise)

A very satisfying job.

We’ve always removed the ball from the mole plough. Kink the pipe over and put a couple of jubilee clips on to make a loop. Then fix it on the rollpin that normally holds the ball, and off you go. Heavy clay and no stones here though.

A recycled cow cubicle can be a good source of bent steel pipe for putting in poly water pipe etc.
Did 200m in clay soil 30 years ago behind mole plough, just welded a plate with a hole in on the back of the mole and doubled the pipe over and pulled it the full length, then dug a hole, joined the pipe and set off with next length.
Very satisfying to put a trough in the next grazing block.

I have had 500m rolls from JDP, manufactured by Peak Pipe Systems. Saves a lot of joining
