Mowing 2 acre field

Im looking for a cheapish solution to keep an 2 acre field mowed short (think almost garden lenght). Have a defender 130 which im happy to tow something with. Seen either towable mulitipul manual gang mower types or flail mowers.
not after spending more than £2k. Any thoughts on which would be better or other ideas? Field is about 200 x100m.

Cambridge Machinery Sales is your friend. Plenty of cheap gang and ride on mowers for little money but need to be handy with spanners

Cheap out front mower for £2k should be doable. There were about 30 in Cambridge Sale this morning.

Wouldn't want a 130 for doing that job. Turning circle is awful and it'd sink in well!

Can’t have lifestock on it planing on using part of it as a grass strip... it’s well drained so the 130 doesn’t sink in. Will have a look at cambridge as I agree the turning circle isn’t great

I used to do that on a ride on. If you want it to look garden tidy you will need to collect as well. Unless you have time to cut it twice weekly in the summer.

If you want to use the defender then you want a set of land driven gang mowers. Either llloyds or ransomes.
I keep a set of 5 Lloyd's at our cricket ground and drag them round with pickup.
You'll pick a good set up for under £1000. Half that if you shop around.

Out front kubota 6ft deck. Very little maintenance required fairly simple machine. My friends father in law used to run 6 of them. 350 acres in 5 days
