I totally agree, but I think it closed in 2010. Replaced with some 4D cinema experience. Royal Observatory Greenwich best place now.The Planetarium is fabulous for all ages.

Spent a lovely day last year, starting at St Paul’s, across the wobbly bridge to the Tate Modern (wandered around in there for a bit) before heading out all along the S Bank to Westminster Bridge via a cafe for lunch (past the Eye-glad we didn’t bother with that; it was rammed!). Then South to the IWM for the afternoon.Just walk along the Thames and stop at a pub or Borough market for lunch.
South Bank probably an easier walk with fewer obstacles.
Free and great views of architecture and even better people watching!!
I love walking cities. It’s all you need to do really, just wander about and soak it all up.
Those were the days.Remember Mum and Dad taking us to London in the mid 60's. Drove from North Essex in a mk 1 Cortina, parked beside Cleopatra Needle, no charge. Able to walk to most of the sights, great day out.
Last time we went we did one of the open top bus tours , spent a morning stuck in traffic at a snails pace, i forget where we were heading but when we eventually got as far as Waterloo wife looked at me and said "shall we just go home" we all agreed so off the bus, onto train and home and haven't been back since.the road out
That is a good Prem Inn, Mrs Bg was born in Westminster so she gets a bit shaky going south of the RiverA West End show Thats if you don't mind having your wallet molested, just to sit through 2 hours of camp warbling.
Accommodation, the Premier Inn at old GLC building on the South Bank is great value, a big breakfast, and as central as it gets.
2nd the Imperial War Museum, but it's bit of treck if the tube drivers are still complaining that £59,000 isn't enough.
These, also Kids love Ripleys believe it or NotTBH, it will depend on the teenage interests, but the big Museums are great.
Natural History, Science, V&A, War Museum... All worthy of a day alone for each one!
