Anyone using a v500 or V40 or people’s experiences with MX kit
The v500 only weighs around 260 kg half of other manufacturers bale stackers weigh
Wondering are they made out of fag paper !!

We have a manubal V40 , used for round and square bales brilliant bit of kit for cotton reeling rounds. Used all year round for moving squares.
The soft bale part for wrapped silage is an after thought, it's ok but not brilliant

Got one here and it’s good. They’re for loader tractors though really hence why there’s not as much metal in them as some of the bigger grabs. Think it’s the MX V500 which is built for handlers. Edit V7000 which is for handlers :X3:

We have a V500 here. Square bale 300 acres a year now plus another of our hauliers has got very picky and wants rounds stacked tin can style so figured it was time to get something better than the bale roller/spike combi. Works ok on 100hp 4wd tractor, needs rear weight to be comfortable though. If you are working with a tractor loader and round bales I think you could struggle with the V40 to get maximum height for stacking three high on trailer, you can grab rounds 2 at a time with the V500.

v500 here.... haven't managed to break it yet! I see your picture doesn't have lower tines, I would have the tines for squares definitely.

You can grab two rounds with a V40.
Two tines in the bottom bale 1 just in the top bale to stabilise it.

Load the trailer with a single first then the top two. If you want to put a rider in top of the two then grab it end on. Simples

One made 2200 at a farm sale yesterday. Saw a new one advertised for 2700 online.

I was standing beside it when it sold. Didn't get a chance to look in the direction of the auctioneer, the 2 bidders were determined...

Not what you asked but i do have one of these grabs in this link. https://www.jbournetractors.co.uk/in-stock/vertical-bale-grabs-round-square/ . I have the smaller one and handles 2 rounds or 2 squares. Had in on a jcb loadall for 2 seasons and wouldnt be without one now.

Funnily enough one of these is 'plan B', but I was a bit reluctant because I hadn't heard any user testimonials. Your timing was perfect!

They look like a Polish made Zagroda:

Its well built for the money. Are you mainly round or squares? I think it is better suited to rounds but have used ours to load mini hesstons and it was fine. Reason i went for that one as it was it means you can still pick up a 1 round bale and put if against a roof.

Rounds.
It might sound daft but it's just hay and straw for horses, so not big volumes. We've just about managed with using pallet forks stacking bales on their ends 2 high in an old low roofed court, but it's a royal pain in the hoop and I've been looking for a grab for ages. 2nd hand grabs rarely come up with JCB Q Fit brackets, they seem to mainly be Euro or pin and cone.

I wouldn't hesitate to get another and would be quite happy to say it will make your job 10 times easier
