New drill tank volume?

Why don’t they just say 1.5 tonne of wheat instead of 2000ltr as that would make sense to most of us farmers!!!
Because the volume of the hopper doesn't change. The weight of seed that will fit in will vary with the density of the seed.

It could be called a "three bag hopper", but then someone would probably get angry with it when they discover they can't actually get the third bag of wheat fully empty when refilling, unless the hopper is ran absolutely empty. Or when they have pats in the extra large half ton bags and the of them is rather more than 2000 ltr.

Look at Fert Spreaders the same as the difference between Kieserite and Urea is huge and the same is true of some wheats come paired to some spring barleys. Was caught on this many moons ago and it cost me giving a rather sharp unscrupulous customer a hopper extension when he asked if a 1500l hopper would hold a tonne of seed and I said yes from empty which would usually be sufficient and he then found some awful spring oats! never again a litre is a litre and there is no argument.

A tonne of feathers weighs exactly the same as a tonne of wheat but the volume will be a bit different.
Your combine grain tank will be in litres your trailer will have a chassis capacity but the actual capacity of the box will be in litres. You understand the wheat you sell will have a specified weight it has to reach in kg/l and deductions/rejections will result if it falls below the agreed weight, forklift bucket capacity will be in l etc. etc. As a pre metric ludite I've had to work out what 56lb/bushel equivalent is to work with cereals so the rest of you have probably been working in kg/hl without even realising.
