New grainstore lights and cable

Got a new grainstore nearing completion, after some thoughts on lights, are people using light armour cable or cable conduit for power cable up in the roof, going to put 6-8 lights up, in my other store they are mounted not much higher than the grain wall and pointing in towards the middle of the barn, this can cause shadows/shading, so I was thinking of putting them on the underside of the roof pointing down, what have other people got, what’s common practice. TIA.

We put up a shed a few years back, 80 x 80, 6 m at eaves.

had a newish Jcb at the same time that could lift to 7 m.

lad had the WHOLE yard out and whole building inside to load a drill and still hit the gable end crumpling the tin.

despite trying to straighten it out I still wince at least twice a day when I walk past it.

Use armour cabling with led lights fixed on to the purlins we’ve a few sheds with them its like daylight with them on at night.

For only 6 or 8 lights I would wire then in armoured, if you where talking loads the trunking may be better but not for just a few.

Then run the armoured in / out of a metal conduit tee and a short flex out to led floods.

Mines done with conduit, but amoured cable would be my choice now.
Got a lot of 50w led floods in there.
Right in the roof apex, plus some each end.
I fitted weather proof 13amp sockets so replacement is easier, LEDs do die.
My supply had stray voltage which makes them light up slightly all the time, it also kills them.
Very glad I went with the easy change option.
It's very well lit with 8 x 50w LEDs in there.
Facing both ways to eliminate shadows.

Armoured cable and 100w or 150w led high bay 'ufo' style lights. Depends on width but I would put 2 runs of lights with 2 per 20' bay.
That’s more than I was expecting, but I do want good light, I’m expecting to work on machinery in there too, when some grain has gone

I didn’t know what UFO style lights were, turns out I’ve a couple already, got one in a cattle shed and two in the sprayer shed, by far the best lights on the place so I’ll look more into them I think 👍

we have just put up 4 led high bays down centre right up below ridge on timber purlins. 2 150w and 2 200w in a 140x60 shed.
side door halfway down shed with 200w lights a bay either side of middle bay. 150w one bay in from each end. Just wired them today and its like daylight inside.
Lightly armoured wire in roof between lights, ducted to switches beside door
