How
Yes had T6 DC for a year now. First blue tractor. Gearbox faultless and simply brilliant to use. We had a neutral button fitted to joystick which should be standard.
A range of 8 ps for soil engaging, a range for top work, and a range for highway. No range shifts needed for a given task. What could be simpler this side of CVT?
Tractor itself has an annoying electrical problem which led to another visit to the dealer workshop this week and I hope it is finally fixed.
I would recommend a test drive.
How much dearer than electro command is it? And was it the reason you went for your first blue tractor? Take it its pretty similar to jd dd to drive

It was same price as Electro then, and it had a fairly long guarantee, can’t remember now but maybe 5 years.
Had to choose between what they had in stock and believe it or not the 175 was cheaper than getting a special order middle ranger. The 145 was the other attractive deal.
It was best mix of product and dealer convenience (5 miles away). JD was going to be a lot more money and dealership changes were happening. For our modest operation the NH was good enough and no need to spend more. A modern day 5000!!

Correct. We need a full time contractor or large scale farmer to give us all a view on whether they stand up to heavy use.
It did make whiny noises at one time which concerned me, sounded like transmission bearing trouble, but it was just a loose cab mounting.

So no1 own or know of dynamic command or active 8 that has done lot of hard graft
Not done hard graft but do have a T6 145 DC that has a loader ...does little loader work really but bought as ex demo and came with it.
We have used it on raking, tedding (10m),and on the front of an Arcusin bale packer most of the summer. The operator likes it well enough and has no adverse comments. We sometimes use it to deliver haylage or hay locally 6-10 ton at a go and I gather it handles well. I have only driven it a limited amount but can think of nothing adverse to say...staff jump on it in prefference to an autopower T7 200 for some jobs. Maybe a size thing.

Thanks for the info, nice to see how its perform in in real life use

We’ve had a t6.175 dynamic command for about 11 months, about 300 hours so far, all heavy work ploughing, subsoiling, combi drilling etc. It’s a brilliant gearbox and spot on for what we’re doing, lovely and smooth and quick to shift. We do very little road work but I still stick it in auto and it glides along like an automatic car. It was the first new holland we had for 20 odd years after being all massey, back in 2014 we bought a t6 electro command and sent it back after a few days due to the horrendous scream it made, none of us could stand it. As soon as this box came out we tried it and bought one pretty quickly after.
We’ve got an mf 6265 and 6270 with the lovely 32 speed dynashift, massey got that spot on but times have changed and gear levers are a thing of the past nowadays it seems.
Back in 2010 we got an mf6455 dyna 6, the autodrive and gearbox in general was a nightmare for the first 5 odd years until the dealer finally removed the auto drive dial, it put dad right off power-shifts in the meantime. He uses it now without complaint but there’s no love lost with that tractor. A combination of those problems and shocking service from the dealer made the switch back to blue but that wouldn’t of happened without dynamic command being brought out.
I know it’s unfair to compare as the dyna 6 is much older but getting from one to the other it’s apparent how much smoother and refined the dynamic command is.
With reliability for the new holland, it had one oil leak from the top of the gearbox somewhere around 70 hours due to a loose fitting but that’s been all. It’s got 5 years warranty and will most likely be traded in at 5 years for another one, to my mind any new tractor is too risky to keep out of warranty.

Well these efficiency claims that nh claim are they true? Compared to other tractors in the yard

Yes, it's better on fuel than anything else we've got. I haven't done any scientific tests but the mf 6270 that used to do the ploughing and is now the backup has a 225l tank and would just about do 2 days to a tank on the 4 furrow plough and press, the NH has a 230l tank and will do 3 days. the 6270 at 120hp would be running approx 1850 rpm and the plough is a good load for it whereas the new holland at 145 hardly knows its got it behind and marches along at about 1500 all day. Similar story with the 3m combination drill, the mf 6265 that used to run it was on its knees and would drain its 160l tank in a good day. the NH runs it in eco pto quite happily without the engine lugging and will do close to 3 days to a tank. adblue does need to be factored in, the tractor has done around 300 hours and just emptied the first 210l drum. not sure if this is typical for adblue usage?
the fuel economy we're getting could in part be because the tractor is never working that hard yet and plays with all our current implements whereas the masseys have had a matched load in the 6270's case or been on its knees like the 6265. in time we will get a 5 furrow plough and bigger subsoiler etc to make use of the power. I reckon that a tractor with a little power to spare is more efficient than a smaller one on its limits.

I was told that the NH DC is always under power so no question of freewheeling off say a steep silage pit whereas the JD direct drive does have a gap in the drive.
No idea if this is true as we have a flat farm and no pit. Either would be fine for us.

Thanks for the replies. Nice to hear customer feedback. Wonder why nh dont sell dc without the multicontroller as a cheaper alternative for ppl that dont want or need it as i would have no need o it

I think it’s about loading the higher end tractors with more tech to bump up the price. My MF 7480 is a relatively straight forward tractor with a vario box, no direct replacement is available now, current models come with things like leccy spools and a computer screen that I have no need of nor a desire to pay for and maintain. Granted many who would want a vario may well want all the bells and whistles but not me, As I’m no fan of MF’s other gearbox offerings it left me with a simple choice, put up with the gizmos I don’t want or buy something else, I took the cheaper option.

I suspect the same will apply to NH, there’s probably no reason they can’t do it but most who want the fancy gearbox will also be prepared to pay for the other bits and bobs, indeed they are probably hoping that you will pay for the extras to get the gearbox rather than go elsewhere. I suspect it works most of the time too,
