New Holland Terrano/Karat

Anyone come across or had anything to do with a New Holland STC cultivator?
Looks to be their version of a 3 row machine like horsch terrano or Lemken Karat. If so does it do a comparable job?
Guessing this is what used to be a Kongskilde machine rather than a rebadging job on an Eastern European machine such as Proforge Invertamax.

It's exactly the same as the Kongskilde Deltaflex- a pretty good machine. The C shaped tines throw the soil forwards as well as up, so it mixes very nicely. I demoed one last autumn in thick volunteer rape- the customer said he was surprised at how well it killed it off looking at it a few days later.

Is this the same
Kongskilde delta flex

Looks to be yes. Know the kongskilde delta was much the same as Smaragd but didn’t realise they did a 3 row one like Karat.

Wondering if something like this would work after peas and potatoes to get wheat in rather than ploughing.

works very well after potatoes, done it here for several yrs, nice and level and leaves fair proportion of potential groundkeepers on surface for frost and Deer to take care of.

also hung a tool bar on back with old accord cx disc coulters for 1 pass osr establishment.

What do you think of the crumbler on the back of the NH one in the picture? Would that be right thing after potatoes or not?

i think itd leave too fluffy a finish and you Could end up with porridge if it rained. also, don’t know what your soil is like but youll bring up the stones from the wheeling and I reckon it’d fill up with fist sized stones quite quick.

Ive a D ring packer mainly because of picking up stones with the demo one which had twin crumbler rollers like the photo. D ring leaves a more weather proof finish in my opinion and doesn’t sound like church bells when you turn at the end with it full of stones.

Thanks, was thinking that could well be the case.

Ask about the Max Pack roller- it’s much heavier, with solid rings with ridged edges.
I've a Delta Flex with the Max Pack:

Used on wide range of soil types and does a brilliant job (y)

NH had one at Tillage, although not with Max Pack:

So as already said the NH STC is a rebadged Kongskilde Delta Flex, very well built and the design is proven by the numerous models offered by most manufacturers.

The packers are easily changed so the dealer may be able to offer you a choice of packers, the Max Packer was a bit extra, but understandable for the extra steel. I had a standard Kongskilde Delta previously with a cage roller and the Max Packer is better in almost every situation.

Of course CNH have owned CNH since 2017 http://www.kongskilde.com/News/Year 2017/01-02-2017 New Holland Agriculture completes acquisition of Kongskilde Agriculture
