Has anyone bought a brand new pick up very recently and would be kind enough to share what deal you managed to get? I’m not an nfu or any other buying group member.

I’m particularly interested in the hilux invincible x and the navara n guard.
Thanks.

My other half has just done a deal on a Navara Tekna full spec auto for work and it was a fair bit cheaper than an invincible x but it was the new 2.8 one due out next month. There may be deals on the current Hilux but the Navara seemed a nicer smoother drive. Looked at a n guard but couldn’t justify the extra £ just for it to be de-chromed. We test drove nearly all the pickups on the market and the amarok was by far the best but so was the price. Me personally i would have gone for the ranger Wildtrak but as she needs a back on it couldn’t carry a ton in it so BIK was sky high.

You can get about 20% discount on both through a buying group or NFU. This is usually a combination of manufactor fleet terms plus a dealer discount, although it looks like on Toyota is all from the manufacturer. Don’t know how close you’d get to these.

Are you saying a rear canopy is taking some of the ton load capacity?.. I thought they all had that margin built in?

The limited are fine as the payload is higher but the wildtrak is less payload to start with and any canopy weight has to be deducted from the payload making it under 1000kgs. You could prob get around it by having it fitted after you have bought it but it’s a grey area, be fine unless HMRC catch up with you.

It’s easy honestly, look at OTR price, Knick off 30%! Hardest in this idea is doing it face to face! You can tell if they think you are genuine or a changer. In your mind have how you want to pay before going in. Don’t be too proud to take finance over a cash deal as that’s how garage make their money! Seen far to many hero’s on here saying they can pay cash. Yes you can but if it’s subsided finance, use their cash! RRP will get £400 kick back. Way more than if he was to seek to you with no finance!

You could remove spare wheel?!.. at waht point would HMRC catch up with it?... they dont enforce the lower speed limit on these as there is no way of knowing without stopping them to look at the vin plate.

No you don't. You have to have been a paid up member for at least six months and you need to apply for a certificate that gives you a discount for the particular brand. You can only use it once per year. Get on the NFU website and into the 'members' tab and if you log in as a member you have access to the various brand's details and vehicle discounts. Some are absolute discounts and some are in addition to what you can negotiate with your dealer.

The discounts are not off the OTR price. They are off the basic price before taxes and delivery, which you must add back. and there may, for some models, be different discounts for extras. Some taxes are fixed, such as 'luxury car tax' and road duty. Others, like VAT are added back onto the real discounted price. In some cases there may be other special offers like 'free' metallic paint as well.

30% you'd be lucky to get 20% off a Hilux.

Why would you pay interest on a vehicle if you have money in the bank earning 0.01%?

The scottish NFU is more than 20% off the Hilux.

Always worth phoning a couple of garages as some do weird things diffent/no discount on accessories etc I have even had full discount on list price including Vat which was obviously a mistake on their part.
Model year 18.5 has a great discount. MY19 has slightly less. MY20 has less again and a higher list price to start with. That's what I'm lead to believe in England and Wales. ;)
Not sure how many of those MY 18.5 and 19 are left in stock. My guess is not many if any.
