Felt like Sept/Oct shifting the fencer tonight. In the parlour yields were similar to Sept/Oct. Just asking, has anyone else cows yield dropped off a cliff this week or am I a sh*t farmer? Grass is very lush but thinking it grew too quick, full of nitrogen. Leaving a fair bit behind them.

Got silage tested for N on Friday as it's very green and was on the high side, must have been a fair bit left over from 1st cut as I only put 60 units on 6 weeks ago.
Yields have dropped this week but grass is shot, next couple of fields are silage aftermath so hopefully they come back up.

Sowed 65 units 4 weeks ago. Hoping to cut incoming weekend. Surely grass would of been eating close to 3 units a day. Testing grass tomorrow.
So now everyone is looking for sun. Yous will learn

Borderline I was told, just covering his rear end when we end up with a pit of dung. Should be ok if we get a couple of dry days.
I never stopped looking for the sun, it can rain every day from November to February if it likes.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
