Thinking of trading in my es80 four furrow for a 153 kuhn, ploughing lay and arable? Any difference in metal price etc?

Run 2 153 varimasters, will be a lot heavier than your KV,metal will be a bit more expensive but genuine does tend to last well, overall good strong plough,as with any variwidth keep it well greased though.

We have a 122 here on the H4 boards, which most of them have.It is fine on grass,a 153 will be a very heavy plough, ours is on a long wheelbase 115 Maxxum and it needs a full set of weights for 4 furrows.I don’t think it would carry a 153.

How do you find it on ploughing lay, I'm looking at one with only back discs?
Skimmers are far more adjustable in the Kuhn compared to the KV

Provided you do adjust them correctly, the Kuhn with rear disc only will leave a lovely job turning any kind of grass ley, be it open sward silage ground or red rescue "permanent" pasture
