Would this be worth advertising, as I removed it from the tractor as surplus to our requirements.

It has an old bucket and bale spike with it, and the previous owner used the loader for moving silage bales.

Yep I'd advertise it, has it got brackets with it I'm sure someone would find a use for it

Brackets currently still on tractor, as am unsure how they come off at present
Need to understand what to do with the pipes to the brackets to avoid ballsing something up.

It would do a job for someone at 6 or £700, but you will need to remove the brackets from the tractor. If its from your 2040s it rill fit all the 4 cylinder Deeres up to and including the 2850.

If the loader was worked by the tractor spools then remove the pipes as far back as you can then cap the pipes. If it has a spool block then put up some pictures.

Thanks for the info. Yes, it is off our JD 2040.

Right, photos. The nuts and bolts not the issue - apart from losing my cab step...

The pipes connect as follows

Thats very straightforward. Remove all the forward facing pipes and replace with blanking caps. I cannot remember the thread type or size, but take one of the hoses to a hydraulic supplier and they will sort you out. A bonus of the closed centre system is that even if you engage a spool that is capped no harm will be done to any of the hydraulic system.

Many thanks for clarifying.

Now Then..
The top 4 are 3/4 JIC, the bottom homemade looking one is probably 3/8 bsp.. You will gain another 2 double acting spool valves too. They can be piped to the back of the tractor if needed..
The loader brackets will come off quite simply. However, you'll need to convert the battery box mountings back to something like original. Look it up at JDParts..

That is also why I have not removed them, as I will have no step as well as what you have now mentioned..

Also, if I understand you correctly - I can pipe the outputs back to where I currently only have the 1 set of spool valves?
