how did people get on with these companion cropping? could you broadcast the clover on before rolling?
I’ve been companion cropping since 2017. I’ve found that I needed to cut the nitrogen to about 160kgN/ha to reduce the risk of lodging but yields have been very variable mainly due to CSFB and pigeons. I’ve come to the conclusion that it doesn’t hurt yields and if you are sparing with the companion crop seed rates they cover will their costs easily.Yes, but did anyone find a benefit to the establishment of the rape crop?
