Think my brothers on his 5th ranger.he had real bother with 2 of the 3.2 limited ones.engine and gearbox problems but he does a lot of miles and has a fair weight on the back.
Brother in law has just got one of those Mercedes. Nice pick up looks like a navara but hell of a lot faster
Unless it is a V6 it will be no faster. If it is a V6 then it will have cost an arm and a leg for a fast full-time 4x4 Navara. Well… to be fair the V6 is a different beast to the four cylinder versions, which are really only slightly tarted up Navaras.

Just bought our 4th hilux here..... Since 1985!
Changed 1st one at 5 Years old, second one changed after 13 years, and the 3rd one has done us16 years

I’m on my third L200, since Daihatsus became unavailable in the early 90’s, after my last one (54 plate) blew a hole in the side of the block.:(
I’ve never particularly liked Isuzus or Rangers, would struggle to trust a Nissan to get to high mileage, and can’t justify a VW as I don’t spend all winter shooting....

Very pleased with my ‘new’ 65 plate L200 so far, just struggling to stop the Missus from putting miles on it, which was rarely a problem with the last one.
I can’t think that it will be as cheap/easy to keep going as the old girl though, particularly when it gets up up in mileage.

There has been an issue with head gasket failures and more serious engine issues with the L200 up to about four years ago. I personally know of two that have had major issues and even within warranty a third party reconditions the engines rather than Mitsubishi taking ownership of the problem and swapping engines for new.
Yes, other brands have their problems, but that is no reason to ignore the ones Mitsubishi have. [just pre-empting the inevitable denialists and driver blamers who usually spring to defend the indefensible at this point]

Its the v6 an its been remapped does something like 0-60 in under 6 seconds. It wasn't cheap!

Change your friend not your pickup, based on that record.
They ended up changing his truck for on of the new 4 cylinder models so let's see if he can break that. To be fair he would be a hard user doing quite a lot of miles and most towing but even so. The previous Hilux he had seemed to tolerate his style and did 140000 before he traded it!

I have an 08 plate with 135k on it bought it at 100k miles . A 55 plate with only 88k on it but it’s rotten underneath so will replace the 55 plate and keep the 08 plate until it rots or dies. Don’t really believe in starting to weld the old ones for tests, every year they need more and more

Once they start failing tests there best just stuck on exemption and kept as a rough truck :ROFLMAO:

The only one that I would trust.
To be honest once you start poking about they all have there good points and bad points.

Plenty of owners buying the same brand time after time because they like what they got.

Prices are much the same for similar spec vehicles

So my advice for what it’s worth is buy the one you like. You won’t be disappointed.

I've been looking at the secondhand pickup market in here for some time now. The trend i notice is that everything else is dirt cheap when they reach 10 years/200 000km. But you'll still pay over 20k€ for a Hilux at that age and kilometers. As they say here, they are the best you can get and the engine lasts for a lifetime. There was a company that took motors out of crashed cars and checked&maintained them and sold them on. They stopped stripping Hilux and Hiace engines, since nobody needed them. :LOL:

But the ride comfort of a Hilux isn't that great. And the new ones have as hollow doors as my moms -85 Hilux had. They resonate for 30 minutes after you've slammed them shut. :joyful:

Tell me that this doesn't look good. It's a light truck so no car tax added to the price, fuel tax is only 70€/year (normal Hilux Pickup ~800€/year) and has a towing capacity of 3500kg. :love:

Someone put pickup depreciation is rediculous, looking at Navara, I reken it's 1k per year as long as your averaging 10k miles
15 plates averaging around £10-11k with 50k on are basically 5 years old but what were they when new?
Brand new Navara tekna is 19,999 +500 for paint at moment. So they look half price but were they 16k ISH 5 year ago?

Our last hilux lost about £1050 a year over ten years compared to a RR or bmw dont think thats too bad and apart from wearing parts and servicing the only cost was a £105 sensor

I'm looking at a pickup but why buy a 5 year old pickup to run for 5 years with the same depreciation as a new one? More money initially but here for longer? Or less to put too next time

Our new Isuzu has a 120,000 or five year warranty, hopefully it will last ten without too much expense or untill a decent electric one with 400 mile range comes out

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
