I'am thinking of replacing spring barley with triticale (lower nitrogen inputs and field next to rabbit infested railway line)and using it to feed to cattle, is there a problem with gluten as there possibly would be with feeding wheat or any other problems I should be aware of.

Any advice around .
I am thinking of direct drilling into a bunt of grass ley .
My current plan is to direct drill Triticalle and possibly lupins.
Will this work ?

We don't have any Livestock anymore so i am looking for the best crop to grow to sell to local dairy farmers either direct off the field or via wrapped bales

Have grown. Triticale a few times although not for a few years. Nice and cheap to grow but watch for ergot, I had it bad last time. It was a spring crop, off my head dri

As far as selling it, if your customers want to caustic treat it, it can be a little bit of a pain. The seed coat doesn’t break down in the same way as wheat and it needed more caustic to mix.
