Is there money in livestock farming after fully costing all labour at a realistic rate, taking out a rental equivalent for owned land and allowing for interest on capital employed in the buisness.
A lot of that depends on what the labour is actually achieving, what that capital is invested in.
Continually stacking liabilities onto a smallholding in the hope that meat will suddenly double in value is the way forward 😬

Sounds like the sort of question id expect to hear from a arable farmer. (After he's had a few in the pub and bigging himself up !)

As an enterprise, then yes it can, so long as you are on top of your variable costs. Certainly more than small scale arable anyway.

Whether it pays enough to cover extras like drainage, infrastructure work, an expensive lifestyle with new cars and 3 holidays a year, etc is a different matter.
.....what about a Fendt ?
