A lot of that depends on what the labour is actually achieving, what that capital is invested in.
Continually stacking liabilities onto a smallholding in the hope that meat will suddenly double in value is the way forward

Yes, there can be

As an enterprise, then yes it can, so long as you are on top of your variable costs. Certainly more than small scale arable anyway.

Whether it pays enough to cover extras like drainage, infrastructure work, an expensive lifestyle with new cars and 3 holidays a year, etc is a different matter.
