Anyone any idea what could be wrong with this calf? Found her with a very mucky back end as can be seen in the image... Apears to be like a bloody diarrhea, definitely blood coming too. Calf still seems lively and is eating corn and sucking it's mum but obviously something must be wrong. Thanks

Tube it with 2-3 pints of water and make sure it can reach the water tanks and it will probably get over it. Is it eating alot of silage , young calves eating silage/haylage/hay will scour sometimes . Blood in poo isnt always a looming disaster.

Will nip to the vets in the morning and get some vecoxan to do the others it's been with. What could have caused this as I've not had it before and have a closed herd? Was nothing like normal yesterday and like that this morning... And should the jab of alymicin cure it? It was the only antibiotic I had in

Alamycin won’t do it any harm and should cover most mild infections but will do nothing to cure it if it is coccidiosis. Take a sample to the vets and they will confirm it quite quickly.

Looks like it will be passing a lot of diarrhoea. The old fashioned therapy for this should be more water and electrolytes and to offer encouraging foods? If it is cocci or similar as an infectious agent then it is probably too late to separate it from the rest but may be worth doing to treat it any sense unless the dam goes nuts, maybe put the dam in as well.

Consider pain relief also.

Think she'll be Abit old for that? She's about 3 months old
Id guess it's Coccidia but don't go by guess work.
Take a dung sample to the vet in the morning and they'll test for it while you wait, if confirmed don't come home without Vecoxan, drench the lot on arrival home.
Don't waste time, they can get pretty bad pretty quick.
