I bought a pottinger 305ed this year and the pto clutch burnt out after only 80acres. Dealer took it apart and showed me the (what I would call the drive disc) and it was scored up and buggered! Has anyone else had this?
If you grab a big big wad of grass the rollers can jam and then you smoke the clutch. This only happens when you drop the mower to the ground and ‘mow’ an existing swath/windrow, the cut material doesn’t flow through the rollers properly and jams it up (this can be avoided by driving slowly until you are into uncut material).
Sorry I haven't been on for abit. Got it back home with all the parts because I wasn't paying £750 to fix it and found out there had only been 3 fiction discs in it instead of 4.
Dealer gone back to poettinger again
