Quad Bike Mileage

Just curious to know what mileage people tend to do on there quad in a year and what people consider high mileage for there quad. Ours has done 12,000 in 22 months which doesent seem to bad but just interested to know what others do. Thanks

Thats miles, averages around 8 miles for every clock hour.

Plenty of quads traded in at two years old with less than 800 hrs. Local dealer works on an average of 11km per clock hour

Very similar to that, I did 4,500 mile from December to late March and went through a set of brakes in that time too.
doing less now as spreading it out over 3 vehicles now.
Had a 2 year old which is now 4.5 years old was on 24,500km at 24 months old.

Yet I know someone with a 5 year old quad with under 200 mile on it.

They are collectors items now, fuel use was horrendous after they’d done high mileage but they were seriously comfortable

Mine doesn't do too many miles and hopefully will last a good number of years. What's a decent 450 worth ?

Yamaha? Not a clue? On the mileage I do they don’t tend to go out of warranty for long if at all

No - Foreman 450. It's had a very easy life with me - will check the mileage later but suspect it's less than many do in a couple of months.

Pretty sure it was the foreman 450 honda got its reputation from, its a shame there latest bikes are soft.

well it is for mine,

i just use it when the ground is to soft, rest of time i use and old pajero, radio heating nice seats...

think i did 500 miles on pajero over lambing time, not sure on quad.

65-40-15 mine averaged each day this year 130 litres of petrol wouldn’t last 5 days between the 3 bikes

We probably do 6-800miles a year. 25,000 is the most I've seen on a quad and that looked pretty bad.

6000 a year seems very high, that's 16 a day, every day. To go round all our sheep is only a mile or two so we would never get near that.

My bikes seem to average about 5000-6000 a year but that’s dropped a bit since the Gator picks up some of the workload

1997 Honda TRX400, just done 6000hours and aboot 51000km. People might complain that there thirsty, but thay actually have a small fuel tank. Frame rust would be its biggest problem but apart from that there bulletproof.

One of our quads, all Yamaha does over 15k kms per year and usually keep that one 3 years, highest distance I have ever seen was on a neighbours who clocked 75k kms on a Yamaha and was still going when they traded it in!
Only recently had problems with a Yamaha in 30 years and that was a new 450 which has had fuel pump problems and think we went through 4 before we got one that works properly again. All bar one replaced under warranty.
It is interesting that we have a new 700 and that is more economical than the 450 on general running about checking livestock.
