Just about to buy a set of Tyres for my Honda Foreman 500... I would like your opinions on what make and profile is widely liked.
I can see two distinct profiles! one square edged, and one more curved... Pros & Cons Please.

Is there a quad tyre equivalent to the BFG allterain?

The many different tyre styles have different functions and characteristics. Many of the ones with big chunks on the outer edge will be worn out in the centre and the outer lugs can still be as new. Some of the ones for deeper mud are not much good at climbing out of a rut or changing direction on grass slopes. Tyre pressure obviously is important as it affects how much of the tread area is in contact with the ground and also affects the grip. I am afraid it is a matter of trial and error as to which type is best for your ground and conditions. Personally my quad hardly ever goes on the road so I have no experience of how long they last on tarmac.
Ply rating also has a big effect on how well the tyre moulds to the ground.

I appreciate all that you have written down, I just bought a Honda Foreman 500 with 361 hours on the clock, yet the tyre centres are worn out! the previous owner to me must have read the tyre pressure sticker wrong, as I did until asking the question on here.. both thought it read 25psi in actual fact it was 25Kpa, which is the equivalent of 3.6psi..

The tyre style on the left is the pattern we tended to fit on ATVs for field and hill use - Innova are a good brand we used to fit to Arctic Cat diesels when I worked for an ATV repairer.

I have the ones on the left on my Honda on the rears, bkt 207 wing. I chose to have Carlisle AT489 on the front as I thought they would be too aggressive and rip up the turf.

Probably best seeing whats available locally. What are you planning to do etc? Any bog standard tyres will be ok for general stock check but if your doing alot of road work or heavy towing spend more money on a wider/ chunkier set. I run kenda executioner.
