I had to stand on the mag drill base to keep it there.

Fork repair again. last repaired around 30 years ago with some reclaimed pipe and welding rod stub ends.
Weld cracked off so another stub end used off the floor to re attach with some bird poop weld, then levelled fork ends off a little with the last worn out cutting disc out off scrap bin.
Should be good for another 30 years now.

All this talk of lathes has gone over my head time for a proper bodge.
Feeding the cows some straw in a shed away from the main yard so there isn't a loader there all the time. The rougher straw they won't eat I'd normally fork into the loader bucket and then tip under them (it's too much to waste just throwing into the feed passage like I would old silage) so needed an easier way to get it onto their bedding than trying to throw it with the fork. Found an old tote bag and cut one side off with a penknife to make a big open bag. Fill with the rough straw and drag it round onto their bedding. Tip over to empty. Works really well even though it sounds like a sh!t way of doing it. Wouldn't want to do hundreds of cattle like that though :ROFLMAO:
