My power purchase agreement comes to an end the middle of this month, has anybody renewed one lately.

I'm currently with Limejump on a tracker but the rate has seemed very low to me, I think wholesale market prices have been down?

Exporting approximately 200,000 kWh annually from wind and solar.

I saw another thread someone had seemed satisfied with new stream, so thought I would try them.

I would give Jamie at Newstream Renewables a call. Just renewed some PPAs for 12 months starting April. Market is looking strong. They presented a number of options (broke down all the bits, embedded benefits, REGOs etc.. which is useful when trying to compare a quote from someone like Limejump!) and then gave me some recommendations as to when to fix. You should also ask them to give you access to their pricing screen which is useful. Good luck...

Opus were £8/MWh better than Limejump

I haven't changed contracts before, but have had a slightly better quote from F&S (I think recommended on a thread on here) than from our current buyer (Opus).

Are there any potential pitfalls when changing PPA buyer/anything I should be aware of etc?

I have only changed ppa buyer once, we were originally with Opus in 2013 when our wind turbine was commissioned, and changed from them to Limejump in 2018. From my personal experience it was seamless, Opus continue to pay the fit, and exported power is paid for monthly by Limejump.

I personally wouldn't be concerned about the practicalities of moving, as long as the company you go to are sound. But like you say I think I have seen threads about them on here.

I foolishly decided to take the DECC option of 5.5p standard payment at my last summer renewal when prices slumped. This kicked in first October. At the same time had to change the FIT provider, big mistake.
so far have had nothing back as it seems they do everything 3 months in arrears.
I am not naming company as I believe they are doing what they can.
It would appear that the green market recovered quite quickly thankfully, I look forward to going back in ASAP.
luckily my cash situation is good so no issues.

Hi All,

I own an energy company based in Cheshire with a large agricultural customer base. We offer solar design and installation, commercial electrical contracting, LED lighting conversions, as well as import and export energy procurement, which is why google thought this thread was relevant to me.

I previously used to manage the Savills (UK) Ltd corporate energy portfolio, with an annual spend of £185,000,000 on electricity and gas alone. Using my contacts within the industry developed during my time there, I now manage a direct portfolio of customers, with a heavy emphasis on green energy and products.

With export negotiations, we simply use my contacts to find the best deal available direct with suppliers in the current market, give you all your options, and if we can make your export more lucrative then fantastic.

If anyone would like us to look in to their export to see what prices are out there and available, please just drop me an email at [email protected].

Why did you have to change Fit provider ?

The FIT export tariff does get paid alongside the FIT payment rather than monthly, was that not explained to you? We went on to that last summer also when prices were very poor. It's far from ideal but I knew what I was signing up for. What are prices like now on a normal export PPA?

I downloaded my December statement earlier and the tracker has just got back above 6p (all in). But was 2.9 in the worst month last year. I'm only eligible for the 3.5ish export rate, so had little choice but to ride it out. I reckon I'd want at least 7 to fix. Am I unreasonable?

I am not complaining, I rather panicked, I was luckily in a 2 year contract through the worst and should have trusted the market and carried on a flexible price. I would likebto see how much I have exported though as my year end is October and cannot finish my book for last year yet.

I looked at some a renewal pricing for our wind turbine last week and it was just below the FIT Export tarrif. I am not rushing as we have until the end of March to opt into the FIT Export Tarrif for another year or take a PPA. The andvantage of the PPA is the monthly payments which certainly help!

Do you know who your data collection / data aggregators are? If so you can request the export half hourly data from them. If you'd like help analysing it to make sure you get all the information you're looking for I'd be happy to help.
