Reading Offem rules and regs. Looks like perfectly working rhi system heat meters got to be ither sent away to be re-calibrated or renewed after 10 years.

Both options are at HUGE costs PLUS the installation, commissioning, certification and seals fitted charges AGAIN on top apparently!

Anyone been through it all yet???

Looks like money making," hoops", again to jump through, allegedly?😡

We have had so many non-Kamstrup meters fail that we are going through them replacing with Kamstrup. All we do is change the meter, send a photo of the old one and the new one with reading at installation, and it all goes through. We have not had to show certification etc. so far. The process has improved vastly since the early days when it was a right pain.

itron are the most reliable, the kamstrup has internal passages that routes the water flow to get the readings, dirt can collect in these passages,
the itron just has two ultrasonic sensors,

I have been struggling with getting Modbus connection to an Itron, while Kamstrup Modbus connection works well.
If dirt is a problem, do you not use strainers and magnetic traps? Our braised plate heat exchangers always show us if there is any dirt about!

Im currently looking to order one also. Ive got itron, sontex and ista meters on mine.

Itrons are the only ones I havent had break yet, but with the sontex they did make it easy enough to swap out an internal module if I remember.

Just replaced 1 of those little ista meters, they are complete rubbish, don't buy them.
I have an itron with MBUS, (not Modbus), written code to read it at midnight each night, works really well.

Check whether the previous submissions are "In Review" or sent back as "With User". I was stuck with it staying as With User for a while until I phoned, and found that I was supposed to have responded to an email asking if I wanted Estimated Readings which I never saw. You do NOT want to go through the Estimated Readings hoops!

In review.
Their crafty like that.
Throw a question at you that you answered a thousand times, say then back with user when NOT, then they change and I do that ,then back in review and they start their time to respond meter going again. 😡
Never in 11 years had so much trouble for such a Friggin simple amendment?💥

Can anyone advise, I have an Itron meter. I was hoping I could just swap the front section off (it just twists off) without having to swap out all the 'in-line' gubbins behind it. Does this work? I have tried emailing a few Itron suppliers but no-one can tell me if you can do this. I also am struggling to identify which model I have (picture attached), the product codes don't seem to make much sense / be shown on this one. I only have a 60kw system. Thanks

It's not mains powered. I was concerned swapping with a Kamstrup could mean lots more work sizing it for the pipes etc.? I can probably manage to swap out like for like. I wasn't even entertaining getting it recalibrated.
