if I knew how much rainfall we would get and wether it was in torrential long lasting downpours over the next 3 months could make the decision wether to roll or not easier ,as it is the vast majority of our crops have emerged well and are growing away in firm but friable seedbeds. ( conditions at sowing in our favour rather than any super skill) and would cope with winter rainfall better than the last couple of years so leaving well alone until spring to see if and why
I’ve held off a lot this autumn as the press on front and big packer on power Harrow , roll it enough in my opinion . Everything has come up well and can be rolled in the spring if there’s any frost heave or stones to push in .
Drilled some wheat after osr was ripped up yesterday, a dry field just on the edge of some clay cap, definitely too sticky to roll. Will push the flints down in the spring
