Rookie Dual Wheels questions…

I use 16.9 x 38s on my 7810 in UK with a 3 m combi drill. I don't know if they are wider than 3 metres but I don't think I've ever had a problem with marks outside the drill track. I did some maths tractor at 72 inch centres will be 88.9 inches wide add two 16.9 inch tyres it will be 122.7 inches wide or 3.06 metres wide obviously the width the spacer adds a bit though.

Would a pair of 13.6x38 duals match up height wise with the 16.9x34s?

yes, both 61" high

Only problem likely to be that duals that size/age will be old star fitment Bettinsons.
both stocks and opico done 13.6x38 duel wheels.
the MF 290 I drove for limespreading ran on 13.6x38's with opico duel wheels fitted all the time, it was 8'2" couldn't go wider and get round the lanes, knocked a tyre off the rim a few times as it was, used to run 10psi in the inner wheel and 8 in the duel , far better grip and safer than wide singles, that said I still tipped it over.

Running 480/70 R38 on tractor at 72" centers and 16.9 R38 duals . The duals are a bit wider than 3m but no adverse marks or poor emergence .I normally take them off going between for going to an out farm I work for a neighbour. Ran the 7840 with 16.9 on tractor and dual previously also with no problems.

Timed auction last week sold (or should that be given away) 13.6 (12) x 38 duals, both stocks and opico's . Kept the tractors of the time under 3m both for road work but also seeder work with 3m drill, saved driving on seeded area.

Guessing the 16.9r38s are on the 1690? Would duals benefit it much? From what I remember of a neighbour's 1594 those 2wd 6 cylinders were nose heavy so the front would still be leaving it's mark even if the rear is treading lightly.
There are recommended spacings for duals but given the weight involved, the limited use and the conditions I wouldn't worry about narrower than recommended spacer bands.

Thank you everyone.

I don’t want to go wider than the implement, as it will be too wide for some of our narrow lanes.

Unless I can find some skinny ones, I think the question’s answered…

Thank you!
