A whole World opened up. Thank you.

I have watched that video quite a few times trying to learn the process , he is a chap who knows the job inside out. He made another in the 80's called "Trouble shooting a small circular sawmill" in conjunction with the NC State university which is on you tube too. Very informative.
When you look at the shed load of circular saws waiting in his saw shop for his attention, he must be a busy man.

Going to give that blade bashing a go, ok it's only on a 10" cut Peterson, but one of my blades has warped , already brazing new carbide teeth to my blades ,so time to try some tensioning.

One thing I have noticed here. The blade is heating from the centre outwards, and is not quite free to turn, even with no wood near it. This tells me to have a good look at the shaft bearings, I feel the they are overheating and the heat is transferring to the blade.

The bearing next to the saw blade was cold. blade was hot. The bearing next to the pulley gets hot, and needs a new phospher bronze bit made. It has been bodged up with led by my father who insists it is fine... gets pretty hot... But as i said bearing heat is definitely not the cause of this issue
