Scottish convergence money

Yes.
Financially I would be thousand of pounds better of under the support payment scheme used in England as opposed to Scotland.

Judging by the comments made in the papers by NFUS president Andrew McCormick last weekend where he accused the Scottish Government of "short-changing" the farming sector by using convergence funds to top up the LFASS budget and that it was "disappointing and ill-judged that greater recognition has not been give to the value of Region 1 land", I think it would be fair to say that negotiations have not gone well.

I suspect that the "Patron Saint of Hill Farming" will have had more influence over how the funds where spent than NFUS.

The Scottish Government will add up all the extra money that has been spent on SSBSS, SUSS and LFASS and claim it demonstrates their commitment to Rural Economy when all they have done is rob Peter to pay Paul.
At least we get paid on time.
Getting bps in august made a huge diffrence this yr

In Brexit political speak I would say the negotiations went well but we had to compromise on some areas.
In fairness to NFUS, they kept the convergence argument alive and Fergus Ewing kept pushing Westminster. Still some talking to do about LFASS or whatever scheme follows it to make sure it supports active farmers who are taking the business risks

The region one payment should be halved
