We have just laid a herringbone of 9" twin wall pipe across what was a very wet field... the trenches were huge, which meant there is a lot of soil without grass on it now its be reinstated! would it be best to scatter some grass seed on it now, or wait until the end of August?

I’d wait because it will sink in the next few months

We've done similar a while ago. Seeded the drain tops with a view to keeping weeds in check. Let it settle for a year then plough and reseed. Obv we'd DD if we had anything about us but then we wouldn't have many teeth left or mower blades for that matter.
