Anyone use “Tiros” seed dressing last autumn?…. Secondly do many of you
use any seed treatment on HSS … I was thinking of sowing this autumn with no seed dressing.. Any opinions would be helpful… thanks
Anything in particular.. I don’t mean germination… do you always send seed away irrespective? … do you clean it with a dresser or straight from the heap ? Thanks @Chae1

We have a mobile drier so it makes a pretty good job of cleaning it.
I always get it tested, loose smut, ergot, fusarium would be things they test for. Just ask for a full seed test.
We have tested this years winter barley and it's fine, so will get sown straight out the heap. This years spring barley had quite high fusarium levels so treated it. But ran short of seed and drilled some untreated and its harvested now and done fine.
It’s this very forum has me thinking about using seed with no dressing… I’m dreading what the merchants will charge for seed this year .. intend using mostly my own .. growing rye for first time so will have to be hybrid … ! Cheers
I have been thinking, a dangerous thing, would a lot of these seed born diseases be treated by normal fungicide treatments? Seems to me that seed treatment dates back to before we had any post emergence fungicides.
