I've always had some carry over, but at times in the past I ve been guilty of cutting it a bit fine, combining a few fields that I should have wholecropped. Plus my carry over pit was in a fairly unattractive location three miles from the main yard at a dry stock house. I've got a fair carry over from last year at the moment. Just opened the last 1000+ ton from last year a month ago. So the pits at home are full bar what I'm feeding from now, and the little dry stock pit is more than half full, so it gave me the final push to make another pit. Done last week and waiting for the concrete to get to 14 days old before hooking on the mower for third cut.?

Buying silage when you really need it is seldom a happy affair. Most other people are also short, and bidding silage up. And what there is available is probably mostly rubbish.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
